David Kohler
As a clinical psychologist, I have spent my career specializing in relationship and family issues, different phase-of-life transitions and substance abuse counseling. My passion and focus is the issues that arise as couples and families manage transitions through the family life cycle. My years of training and experience working with high conflict communication styles, difficult dynamics and phase of life issues has made me uniquely well-equipped to handle most individuals, couples and families.
In addition to family counseling, I also work with the different points of the recovery process, from early treatment through long-term maintenance of sobriety. I especially enjoy working with people on the difficult tasks associated with the integration of a sober lifestyle into relationships and daily functioning.
Each phase of life brings unique challenges. Whether it is relationship difficulties, adjusting to a newborn or general family struggles, each change requires some assistance. I have found that everyone can often use the support and guidance of a family-focused psychologist who can help weather the storm.
